The FreeTech Project

The FreeTech Project continues to tackle social isolation by connecting people online to collectively learn how to use technology at the intersection of inclusivity, sustainability, security and privacy.

The FreeTech Project developed from the start of Libre Digital, shaped by communities in libraries to meet their needs, since technology remains an important part of our daily lives – whether it be accessing information, or simply creating, as a hobby, in groups, or for work.

A montage of a diverse range of people using technology on our workshops in-person and online.

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic that remains with us, our workshops have continued online, and welcome both absolute beginners and even passionate computer geeks hungry for more knowledge to learn and share; what one person isn’t familiar with, the next person may well be — and that’s why we nurture environments where skill-sharing can be utilised as well.

To find out about our upcoming workshops, sign up for updates on this site, or follow FreeTech Project on Mastodon or Bluesky (no, you won't find us on X or Meta sites).
